The Dean Family Our Thoughts and Prayers Go Out To All of You! June 19, 2014

Dear Penny,

Our favorite memories of the years (2005-?) spent with MBSEF (and Seven Peaks) have you and the girls all throughout them. Your warmth and kindness to Barry and I as we were new to Bend and the ski lifestyle was comparable to no other parent or family. Your endless smile and enthusiasm for your girls and their extraordinary talent was not only infectious but inspiring. Kiki and Taye, both so full of life, energy and passion for not only the sport but everything they seemed to do (school, sports, friendships...) was an obvious tribute to you and the zest and spirit you exemplified each and every day towards not only your family but everyone you came in contact with. Clearly evident was the joy your children brought to you and the pride you openly expressed and lovingly shared with each of them in an unconditional, loving way--whether they won the race (more times than not) or merely finished the run safe and sound.

Taye always stood out when she finished a run then breathlessly skied over, tiny in stature and hidden safely by her adorable animal helmet complete with lil' ears, to the scoreboard to critically inspect her times. She was one of the youngest, tiniest and yet mightiest in accomplishment and personality consistently out sking most of the older competitors... her presence mature, serious and wise well beyond her years not only in ability but  intensity!

Are hearts are broken for you and your family... Nothing ever seems to be appropriate or enough to say in the loss of a life, especially when it is your precious child. Please know we are praying for Taye and your family and are here for you, as we are certain your many friends and family are... to help and embrace you all in any way we possible can even if to just offer a little comfort! We are all here to help you through this... With all our Love, Stacy, Barry and Alex Dean

Penny, Hal, Weston, Kiki, Mark and Aunt Manny,
I can't think of anything to say that could possibly ease the pain in your hearts, losing such a vibrant and beautiful daughter. The loss is immeasurable, inconsolable. I can't imagine anything worse. I wish we were there to cry with you, to hug you. It is evident from all the postings and photos that Taye was deeply loved and had good friends to do fun stuff with. Her passion and drive for competitions, the outings with family and friends, show a life filled with adventure, challenges, yet still with quiet moments to reflect and enjoy nature. Taye was a talented artist! Her drawings make one stop to look more at the detail and depth of the images. I am so sorry that she had to leave you so soon. Taye knew what a wonderful, loving family she had and how much you loved her. I know you were all proud of her, but she was proud of you, too.  Wishing you strength...
Deepest condolences and tight hugs,
Cousin Susie

Debby and Derek de Jong Aloha Dear Penny, Hal, Weston and Kiki, June 18, 2014

Our hearts are filled with compassion, sadness and prayers for you all.

We were never honored to know Taye in an intimate way. Our relationship with Taye was built by you Penny sharing in conversation and emails of how proud you were of her and so many of her accomplishments. I feel that I have grown closer to her by viewing the beautiful pictures of her. Which shows what a full life she had and how she touched so many that were placed in her path of life. She will be missed more than words can express, but the memories of her exsistance will never fade from everyones heart.

Revelation 7:17  "for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne will shepherd them and lead them to living fountains of waters." And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

With Loving Thoughts and Prayers- Debby and Derek

Lauran J.P.Torres My heart goes out to you in your pain and loss. June 18, 2014

Though I did not know your daughter, I lost a son about the same age and it is the toughest loss to live with.  The pain lessens but does not dim. She will always be in your heart as my child (Takuya)  is.   I am filled with grief for you and sorrow, and will keep you in my heart.  One day at a time seems the only way to go on.  Your lovely daughter, her energy and enthusiasm for life will live for ever and the mamories will never fade.  Have courage and share her together always.

Peace be with you !

Lauran
